Can Azan sit while sitting?
Habits in the community always call to prayer with standing. We also almost never see a muezzin recite the adhan by sitting down. But all things can happen, including the desire of a muezzin to proclaim the call to prayer while sitting, not by standing.
If something like this happens, what is the law of the call to prayer?
One of the hadith narrated by Imam Bukhari states that Bilal bin Rabah had been ordered by Rasul SAW to stand up and proclaim the call to prayer.
يَا بِلاَلُ ، قُمْ فَأَذِّنْ
It means, “O Bilal, stand up and put the call to prayer!” (Bukhari). stand up while calling the call to prayer. This is mentioned by Imam Zakariya Al-Ansari in Asnal Mathalib fi Syarhi Raudhatit Thalib .
] It means, “It is better to stand at the time of calling the adhan and iqamah based on the authentic hadith, 'O Bilal, stand up and call the adhan for prayer.' Because it is better to give notice,” (See Zakariya Al-Ansari, Asnal Mathālib fi Syarhi Raudhatit Thalib [Beirut, Daru Kutub Ilmiyah: 2000 M]juz I, page 127).
The reason that made standing when announcing the call to prayer, as explained by Sheikh Zakariya Al-Ansari above, is that the call to prayer can be conveyed well, more loud and indeed ethically better than being recited by sitting.
Even in the continuation of the text above, Shaykh Zakari Yes, Al-Ansari mentioned that the law is makruh if it proclaims the call to prayer while sitting down, while the muezzin is still able to stand up.
, “If you leave both (one of them, the call to prayer with standing) while the muezzin has power (to stand), then the law is makruh because it violates salaf and khalaf opinions, but it is still permissible because it does not destroy (the legal requirements) azan and iqamah,” (See Zakariya Al-Ansari, Asnal Mathālib fi Syarhi Raudhatit Thalib [Beirut, Daru Kutub Ilmiyah: 2000 M]juz I, page 127).
Related to affection echoing the call to prayer while sitting not makruh tahrim, because it is still permissible and the law is still valid. This was also mentioned by Ibn Tsaur in Ibn Mundzir's Al-Ijma '
وأجمعوا على أن من السنة أن يؤذن المؤذن قائمًا ، وانفرد أبو ثورفقال:
Meaning, “The scholars agreed that one of the avalanches of the call to prayer was the establishment of a muezzin when the call to prayer was announced. Abu Tsaur had a different opinion, he said, '(May) call to prayer while sitting even for no reason,' “(See Abu Bakr ibnul Mundzir, Al-Ijmaʽ [Tanpa keterangan kota, Daru Muslim li An-Nashr wat Tauzīʽ: 2004 M]juz I, page 38)
This is different if the muezzin does not have the power to stand, such as because of illness, so it is not makruh, as explained in a hadith in Mushannaf Ibn Syaibah .
رأيت أبا زيد, صاحب رسول الله صلى الله عليه وسلم, وكانت رجله أصيبت في سبيل الله, يؤذن وهو قاعد
That is, “From Al-Hassan Al-Abdi, he said, 'I never saw Abu Zaid, one of the companions Allah's Messenger (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sat down when his feet were injured due to war, “” (Ibn Abi Syaibah).
because of illness, it is permissible to also call to prayer while sitting and / or while riding a vehicle for travelers.
Although scholars differ in their opinions regarding the law of reciting the call to prayer while sitting, there are those who say makruh and some who do not, it would be better if they remained standing while reciting the adhan , if physically and healthily we are still able to do the call to prayer while standing. I know this . ( M Alvin Nur Choironi )
