Menggerus Radikalisme di Kampus

Radicalism that spread on campus again surfaced through the statement of the Director of Prevention of BNPT Police Brigadier General Hamli, which stated that 7 major campuses in Indonesia had been exposed some time ago. Suddenly, this statement generated responses from various parties who were pro and contra of the agency's statement. Although it causes debate, one thing that must be understood is that the potential for radicalism has spread at the student level and spread across various campuses.

Samples of exposure to campus on radicalism were seen when there were arrests of 3 people at the campus of Riau State University along with evidence of several homemade bombs. In addition, there is the name Siska Nur Azizah, a young woman who is suspected of carrying out an attack on the police and also has a student background. So far, the potential for radicalism among educated people is quite large.

In 2017 Yesterday, the survey institute Saiful Mujani Research and Consulting (SMRC) released data that 6.12% of student respondents and students agreed to the 2002 Bali bomb as a religious order. Furthermore, the research also released that 40, 82 percent of respondents said they were willing and 8.16 percent of respondents said they were very willing to attack other people or groups considered insulting to Islam. This data is an ingredient that must be considered by those who have the authority to reduce radicalism attitudes and beliefs to the potential of terrorism from an early age.

Finding an Effective Formula

Prevention of the spread of radicalism that leads to the theoretical actions of the campus environment with repressive attitudes necessary reformulated so as to bring effective anticipatory policies and steps. If you agree on the classification of the radicalism movement according to Azyumardi Azra, there are two, namely, 1945, 1945, which is soft radicalism which rejects the teachings of Islam in addition to their understanding and revolutionary radicalism with the form of a movement oriented towards jihad and establishing a caliphate. To address this understanding, Kemenristekdikti and the University must autonomously take tactical policies or steps in accordance with their capacity. It cannot be done in a hurry to take repressive steps.

To fight the doctrination of radical ideals on campus, Kemenristekdikti needs to take several tactical steps, namely (1) through the internal role of the university and (2) forging partnerships with the Cipayung group (GMNI, PMII, HMI, PMKRI and GMKI) to be involved in counter discourse on radicalism on campus.

For internal universities, Kemenrisetdikti needs to provide a specific policy in the realm of curriculum that contains national insights and anti-radicalism ideas within the university. 19659006] Furthermore, the Ministry of Research, Technology and Higher Education encourages universities throughout Indonesia to call on intra-campus organizations such as Bem, DPM and Department Student Association (HMJ) to improve routine discourse at the student level with the contents of studies on pluralism, tolerance, democracy and other moderate studies. This movement was taken as a concrete step to stem the radicalism discourse that tends to contradict the idea.

Since the NKK BKK policy was implemented in the New Order era through a decree No. O156 / U / 1978, it automatically impacts on the absence of the existence of extra student movements on campus . This condition is also what according to Azyumardi Azra makes the radicalism discourse on campus has no competition. Extra organizations in terms of today's discourse on campus tend to be toothless. Therefore, anti-Pancasila movements, pro-khilafah and groups that justify violence such as at the University of Riau appear freely to instill their doctrine.

Kemenristekdikti is required to be more daring to establish communication until collaboration with the Cipayung group consisting of GMNI organizations , HMI, PMII, PMKRI and GMKI in an effort to spread counter-radicalism discourse. Although, the NKK / BKK drives extra organizations to do activities on campus, but the movement still thrives outside the campus fence. Kemenrisetdikti is expected to make a decision discretion by encouraging campuses to establish partnerships with the Cipayung group. The purpose of the collaboration was to organize various agendas for both scientific and popular discussions and innovative activities with the theme of anti-radicalism and terrorism targeting students.

Spreading counter-discourse

When dealing with exposure to campus radicalism we cannot equalize capacity academics with tactical security measures such as Densus 88. Academics must know the role that the security apparatus is handling harshly and repressively, while academics play in the area of discourse fighting. As academics we need to take elegant ways to head directly to radical groups through the formation of massive counter-discourses.

Before speaking too far like a night watch dog by discouraging repressive measures to anticipate, Our academics need to formulate a syllabus or guide regarding what concepts or discourses are effective in suppressing the pattern of thinking of the caliphate, superficial jihad to justify violence.

According to Joevarian (2018) in his article entitled “ Ideology and religion are only part of the reason. post-September 11 terrorism acts explain if radical attitudes are present because of several things such as (1) perception of injustice by certain groups, (2) feeling their identity threatened, (3) loss of meaning of life due to various things up to moral justification standards allow violence. It is the syllabus that serves to break all the arguments, perspectives and beliefs held for these various reasons.

The action step is to nurture the stages of study, discussion and seminars that dissect in detail the problems and shallowness present from radical thoughts and attitudes leads to acts of terrorism.

For this reason, Kemenristekdikti and the University need to provide stimulus funds, facilities and formal legitimacy. The internal structure of the campus such as BEM to the HMJ and the Extra Groups of Cipayung group became the front guard in carrying out the 19459007 counter against radical doctrines that were already believed by several student groups.
